Haven’t been able to keep up with this because I have no idea WHERE it is anymore (and the lovely hostess never shows up in AIM anymore), but just wanted to drop by and say:

The reviews that have knocked the writing, acting, look, FX, etc. of this movie are just elitist snobs who hate George Lucas with a fury that no other filmmaker has to endure. Spielberg USED TO get beaten up, but he went whoring for affection with “Schindler’s List”, The Shoah Project and “Saving Private Ryan” (overrated) and he’s got the Oscars to show for it.

Pay full price, see it on the biggest screen you can and see it at least TWICE before deciding what you think. It’s overwhelming at times and a lot can be missed.

Hell yes! You da man. Fantastic movie. Fantastic STAR WARS movie, which means slightly wooden acting and random action and silliness and all the rest of it and that’s what’s so good about it. It rocks. Lots.

And yes, Private Ryan was bloody overrated. Long, boring wank of a movie. Well, maybe not that bad, but I certainly didn’t like it.

I’m glad I found another blogger who agrees with me that it really was awesome…I’ve seen so many bashing it just because they could, and it’s ridiculous. I totally loved it…seen it twice, seeing it again this weekend…it’s so involved. There’s so much to it. It’s so–vindicating, in a way. :o )
